Integrar conjugation

Table of Contents

Integrar is a Spanish verb which translates into English as “to integrate, form”.

Below are all of the conjugations for integrar in Spanish, in all three moods (indicative/indicativo, subjunctive/subjunctivo and imperative/imperativo) and all of the tenses, for each pronoun.

The vosotros pronoun is mainly used in mainland Spain, and is the informal second-person plural – it could be considered the Spanish version of “y’all”. It is rarely found in Latin America, where ustedes is used instead.

The vos form is used instead of tú in some Spanish speaking countries of South America, especially the Southern Cone (e.g. Argentina and Uruguay) and has a different conjugation.

Integrar Infinitive

English Infinitive to integrate, form
Spanish Infinitive integrar

Integrar Gerund and Past Participle

The gerund (gerundio) is used with the continuous tenses, e.g. present continuous (está integrando) and past continuous (estaba integrando). The easiest way to think of it is the equivalent of english’s -ing form (e.g. integrating).

The past participle (participio) is used with perfect tense ‘haber’ verbs, e.g. he integrado and hubiera integrado. These are the equivalent of English’s ‘have’ (e.g. have integrated).

Gerundio / Gerund  integrando
Participio / Past Participle  integrado

Integrar Indicative Conjugations

The basic form of speech, el indicativo is used for making statements, talking about facts, events and things that are certain and objective.

Integrar Presente / Present

The present tense is as it sounds – it’s for talking about things that are currently going on, which are habitual, or which generally exist. In English, this would be “I integrate” or “they integrate”.

Pronoun Spanish
Yo integro
integras
Él / Ella / Usted integra
Nosotros / as integramos
Vosotros / as integráis
Ellos / Ellas / Ustedes integran
Vos integrás

Integrar Preterite / Pretérito Indefinido

Your simple past tense, e.g. “I integrated” or “she integrated” in English.

In Spanish, there are two past tenses where just one is used in English; the pretérite infefinido is typically used to refer to a concrete, specific moment in time.

Pronoun Spanish English
Yo integré I integrated
integraste You integrated
Él / Ella / Usted integró He / she / you integrated
Nosotros / as integramos We integrated
Vosotros / as integrasteis You integrated
Ellos / Ellas / Ustedes integraron They / you integrated
Vos integraste You integrated

Integrar Imperfect / Pretérito Imperfecto

The pretérito imperfecto roughly translates as “I was integrating” or “she was integrating” in English, and is typically used to describe things and set a scene, talk about events without a specific timeframe, or talk about habitual events or states in the past.

Pronoun Spanish English
Yo integraba I was integrating
integrabas You were integrating
Él / Ella / Usted integraba He was / she was / you were integrating
Nosotros / as integrábamos We were integrating
Vosotros / as integrabais You were integrating
Ellos / Ellas / Ustedes integraban They / you were integrating
Vos integrabas You were integrating

Integrar Perfect / Perfecto

The perfect tense is for talking about things which happened in the past but are still related to the present or continue into the present.

In English, these use the auxiliary verbs ‘have’ and ‘has’ – i.e. “I have integrated” and “she has integrated”.

Pronoun Spanish English
Yo he integrado I have integrated
has integrado You have integrated
Él / Ella / Usted ha integrado He has / she has / you have integrated
Nosotros / as hemos integrado We have integrated
Vosotros / as habéis integrado You have integrated
Ellos / Ellas / Ustedes han integrado They / you have integrated
Vos has integrado You have integrated

Integrar Conditional / Condicional

The conditional is used in place of the English modal verb “would”, i.e. “I would integrate” or “she would integrate”. It can be used to talk about hypothetical situations.

integrarías You would integrate
Él / Ella / Usted integraría He / she / you would integrate
Nosotros / as integraríamos We would integrate

Integrar Future / Futuro

The future tense, simply put, replaces the English modal verb “will” – i.e. “I will integrate” or “they will integrate”.

It is more commonly used for making a hypothesis about the present. To talk about the future, Spanish speakers frequently use “ir + a + infinivo”, e.g. “van a integrar” means “They are going to integrate”.
