One of my favourite podcasts, Hoy Hablamos is a Spanish learning podcast for intermediate and advanced listeners.
Roi Bolás publishes daily podcasts focussing on current affairs, news and grammar, every weekday throughout the year. Each podcast is around 15 minutes long,
The “podcast diario para aprender español” also has a weekly Spanish conversation podcast, published every Friday.
In an extended episode usually lasting 25-40 minutes, Roi and Paco discuss a wide variety of topics, with recent ones including ‘Papá Noel y otras historias infantiles’ (Santa Clause and other childish stories), ‘Hablamos de compras’ (We talk about shopping), and ‘El cuñado del bar’.
Hoy Hablamos also has a subscription, which currently costs $9.95 a month or $95 per year, which gives you access to a bonus ‘Premium’ podcast every Friday. This special episode features Roi and girlfriend Rebe in another conversational podcast, discussing topics such as ‘¿Tendrías una secunda vivienda?’ (Would you have a second home?).
Roi, Paco and Rebe are all very fun, friendly and easy to understand, and speak in clear, Castillian Spanish. The grammar podcasts are specifically designed to teach you new grammar and vocab, while the remaining podcasts are just the trio chatting, offering a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the Spanish from Spain.
More recently, they’ve launched a ‘basic’ podcast, designed for students with an A2 level Spanish (advanced beginners level). They discuss stories with grammar and vocabulary relevant for basic learners, and each episode features an explanation of the grammar, along with exercises and solutions.
